Welcome

The purpose of Child Welfare Kenton on Sea & Bushmansriver is to:

Provide a development Social Welfare service to children in need of care and protection in terms of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005.

Provide Social Work services to children in need of care, support and protection within and outside of their family environment.

The organisation became Child Welfare South Africa: Kenton/Bushmans in 1993 when the National Council together with the community realised there was a need to establish this particular organisation.

Child Welfare SA: Kenton/Bushmans is the only organisation in this area currently rendering services to children between the ages of 0-13 years of age. Most of the members of the communities we serve view our office as a sort of advice office and therefore approach us for assistance with various matters such as assistance with the application of Care Dependency Grants, Child Support Grants, Disability Grants and counselling.

What we do

Child Welfare Kenton/Bushmans manages two Soup Kitchens, namely, Noluthando and Helping Hands.

We feed up to 112 children per day and manage After Care Services for up to 80 children per day through the Uviwe Activity Centre and Helping Hands Centre situated in Ekuphumleni. We manage Foster Care cases of about 70 families and also monitor and supervise Marcel Thokomala Foster Home.

To this end, we would greatly appreciate your financial assistance. If you require further information, please email us at info@childwelfarekenton.org.za and we will be happy to assist.

You can either donate by depositing directly into our bank account (bank details below) or you can donate through one of our Payfast portals.

Soup Kitchens and Foster Home

You are welcome to donate food for our soup kitchens and foster home. You can just drop the food off at our Kenton office and we will manage it from there.

Charity Shop

We have two charity shops, one in Kenton on Sea and one in Ekuphumleni. Please bring your second hand clothes for the shops. You can drop your second hand clothes off at the Kenton Office which is situated behind the Kenton Post Office near the Municipal Building.
